The “Obras Sanitarias del Estado – OSE” decided to cut wages and jobs from workers that are hired by Transamerican company due to national budget debate in Uruguayan Parliament.
Around 60 to 75 jobs will be lost and the remaining workers will have to do all the work with loss in pay.
The workers carried out stoppages and protest in front of the Ministry of Labor.
Authorities refused to talk to elected workers delegates.
Unfortunately the Uruguayan labor federation “PIT-CNT” did not take a stand in favor of the workers, who struggles alone all the time.
