Autoworkers make gains ahead of the National Day of Struggles schedule for November 10.
Chery autoworkers kept their full contract with 1,73% increase in wages for 12-month inflation after a 32-day strike. The Chinese company wanted to outsource large sectors inside the plant what was halted by the struggle of the workers.
This plant in Sao Jose dos Campos has 400 workers and it is the only one Chery has outside China.
GM autoworkers also kept their contract intact plus 1,73% increase in wages, last Friday October 27. The main dispute was around a clause against dismissal for injured workers. There are one thousand workers that were injured inside the plant and have guarantee against dismissal
