Police forces attacked a large march of striking teachers in downtown Lima, Peru

The police forces attacked a large march of striking teachers in downtown Lima last August 24. The majority of the Peruvians support the strike. The Peruvian Workers Labor Federation “CGTP” stands in solidarity with the teachers and demands changes in the economic policies, increase in wages and pension among other labor and social demands.

Teachers are on strike since June 15. Instead of meeting teachers demands, the Peruvian President “Pedro Paulo Kuczynski” (known as PPK) decided to cut teachers’ pay, replace striking teachers and wage police repression.

In power for one year, “PPK” has low popularity at this moment.
