The Labor Coordination Board which unites public workers Unions in Uruguay are calling an one-day general strike for September 7.
Their demands are:

• No privatizations;
• No budget cuts;
• No criminalization of labor actions as predicted by the “essentiality” bill;
• Stop outsourcing;
• Cut public services` bills.

Meanwhile, 70 dismissed workers from transnational “Sherwin Williams” are holding a sit-in in front of the chemical giant premises. They demand immediate rehiring and they want the ministry of labor to intervene against union busting.
